  • Be an active listener.  

A scenario in most workplaces is one where everyone wants to share ideas and feedback.

However, one interpersonal skill is the ability to listen; listening to instructions from your superiors, asking questions, and taking feedback go a long way in showing that you trust your co-workers and they can trust you.

Active listening also involves paying extra attention when receiving instructions or strategizing with team members- making eye-contacts, taking notes, and generally just being drawn into the conversation enough to make them see you value their input.

While one can build friendly relationships at work, one must learn to respect other people’s boundaries; avoid taking other people’s things without their permission.
